The Weavers Factory was home to mid-century textile designer Joan Charnley from 1963 to 2016. When Joan died she left the building to her close friends Nigel Durkan and Julian Bovis, with a wish that it be converted into an art gallery. We converted the Grade-II listed building into a contemporary art space in 2017/2018 and opened to the public in April 2019.
