THE EXHIBITION
‘We Play In Time’ is a photographic exhibition about Saddleworth and its Dobcross Silver Band. Artist Simon Buckley followed the brass band for a year, creating a time capsule using low-light photography, video and sound. He recorded a piece of music inspired by the history of the band and photographed Saddleworth at dusk, revealing a silent and hidden world. Throughout the month of June the Weavers Factory Loom Shop will be transformed into Dobcross Square at dusk, allowing visitors to experience the atmosphere of the legendary Whit Friday brass band concerts (but without the rain!)
